Es la idea del teatro ambiental de Richard Schechner; -teatro in situ o contextual-, la que mejor describe su práctica artística. Schechner crea un diagrama que explica los diferentes tipos de teatros. Este esquema transita entre la "vida impura", como los eventos públicos y las demostraciones, y el "arte puro", el teatro tradicional. Es en el tránsito constante entre la Impureza de la Vida y la tradición del arte donde la práctica artística de Edgar Endress encuentra sus raíces. Su proceso creativo se centra en un sólido marco de investigación conceptual donde el material y las formas aparecen como consecuencias del mecanismo que mejor sirve para transmitir el concepto, con una fuerte relación con el contexto sociocultural donde se lleva a cabo el proyecto.
Cartografías de Extracción es una instalación compuesta por una serie de mapas que propone nuevas interpretaciones y exploraciones de las diferentes geografías. El desplazamiento y la desterritorialización surgen en la instalación, al tensar las representaciones comunes que se encuentran en los libros sobre identidad, historia y pertenencia al extraer secciones del mapa e insertar recortes de enciclopedias. La adición de números, pines negros agrega una taxonomía poética, que es al mismo tiempo sensible y lúdica.

Schechner creates a diagram that explains the different types of theaters. This is the transition between the "impure life", such as public events and demonstrations, and "pure art", traditional theater. It is in the constant transit between the Impurity of Life and the tradition of art where the artistic practice of Edgar Endress finds its roots. Its creative process focuses on a solid framework of conceptual research where material and forms are shown as the mechanism of the activity that best serves to convey the concept, with a strong relationship with the sociocultural context where the project is carried out.
Cartographies of extraction is an installation composed by a series of maps that propose new interpretations and explorations of the different geographies. Displacement and deterritorialization arise in the installation, as do the common representations found in the books on identity, history and belonging to the extract sections of the map and insert cut-outs of encyclopedias. The addition of numbers, the black pines adds a poetic taxonomy, which is at the same time sensitive and playful.
