The objective of beta in ArtBo 2016 was to involve the various visitors, both Colombians and foreigners, to the experience of contemporary Colombian art.
We presented to the public Colombian artists living in or out of the country, with a unified observational concept: nature. The proposal of each of the artists was identified with the abstraction of the same, through objects and installations that are debated between the pictorial and the object. Using methods that usually cross the disciplinary boundaries of art, science, and philosophy.
We thus found contrapositions between the natural and the artificial. They face nature and science, as is the case of Diego Mendoza, who achieves this through the use of graphite agglomerated with natural elements such as leaves of trees and plants. Or the case of Alba Triana, who reflects in her work the self-renewing properties of nature, framed in the understanding of the latest generation of musical creation.
Guillermo Marconi, on the other hand, approaches the natural through the technological, creating scenarios, where both elements analyze their sense of belonging. Finally, Larry Muñoz, who gives the viewer the opportunity to make this nature visible, through objects, phenomena, materials and concepts that define it, but which are considered alien.

El objetivo de beta en ArtBo 2016 fue hacer partícipes a los diversos visitantes, tanto colombianos como extranjeros, de la vivencia del arte colombiano contemporáneo.
Presentamos al público artistas colombianos residentes en el interior del país o fuera del mismo, con un concepto unificado observacional: la naturaleza. La propuesta de cada uno de los artistas se identifica con la abstracción de la misma, mediante objetos e instalaciones que se debaten entre lo pictórico y lo objetual. Utilizando métodos que por lo general cruzan los límites disciplinarios del arte, la ciencia y la filosofía.
Encontramos así contraposiciones entre lo natural y lo artificial. Se enfrentan la naturaleza y la ciencia, como es el caso de Diego Mendoza, quien lo logra mediante el uso del grafito aglomerado con elementos naturales como hojas de árbol y de plantas; o el caso de Alba Triana, quien refleja en su obra las propiedades de auto-renovación de la naturaleza, enmarcadas en la comprensión de la creación musical de última generación.
Guillermo Marconi, por su parte, aborda lo natural a través de lo tecnológico, creando de escenarios, donde ambos elementos analizan su sentido de pertenencia. Por último, Larry Muñoz, quien da la oportunidad al espectador de hacer visible dicha naturaleza, a través de objetos, fenómenos, materiales y conceptos que la definen, pero que se consideran ajenos.
